I
really don't know what the inspiration for I've Longed for Her was. I
was working with the chords, and the lyrics in the chorus sort of came
to me as I was playing, so I wrote the rest of the song around
it. It's about a chance encounter that I never really had,
although for some reason I have images of the place and what everything
would be like.
Maybe I'm seeing the future . . . or maybe not. The one thing
about this song that I really like is that the verses are
in reverse chronological order. Also, at the end there is a piano
part that is really high and fast that I think sounds pretty
cool. Other than that, this song is just a pop/rock song with
some drum fills ripped off from Dave Grohl.
